Camp Staff Voices: Julia's moment with a camper (Post 5)

Shiloh has helped me to grow in so many ways in my strength, endurance, patience, understanding, and love. Through this experience I was able to pour into others as well as be poured into in more ways than one. In the first session, I had a random opportunity to sweetly pour into one of my campers. As we were walking one day, I pointed out something about how lovely the sky looked and I mentioned how the Lord had done this. My camper then asked me, "Why did He make this?" to which I was then able to talk to her about how all of creation exists because of the love of the Lord for His children. I was able to share with her how much God loved her and she was so surprised and excited and I hope and pray she believed it with all of her heart. This was such a sweet and tender moment and I am so thankful for small times like this that I was able to have over the summer that made all of the difficult times worth it.

I am connected to Shiloh through my home church because they take a small group of high school students to camp for a week every summer. However, I personally was never able to go on this trip to Shiloh, but was recommended by my youth minister and ended up working there for the summer.” -Julia, Camp Counselor 2022
