WHAT IS SHILOH’S MISSION?
At Shiloh we equip young people with tools that build hope. Hope is the result of adversity/struggle and a person’s belief that they have the ability to overcome adversity. This happens at camp because the authentic connections we create a safe place for campers to try new things, possibly fail, and learn to trust in their own abilities. We teach hope when a child jumps in the swimming pool and doesn’t drown and learns to swim; when a child puts on a harness and and helmet and scales a climbing tower; when a child explodes in anger and is met with empathy and allowed to find their way back (and is welcomed back). Plus, the toilet cleaning, new foods, bugs, and new games. A core belief of Shiloh is that every camper should walk away knowing they are: a loved creation of God and is loveable by design.
