ACTIVITIES MANAGER:
Are you ready to be the Captain of Fun? As the heart of Shiloh’s summer camp program, you’ll take the lead in planning and organizing a wide variety of exciting activities that will make every camper’s summer unforgettable. You will oversee afternoon and evening activities, coordinate exciting classes, plan weekend games, and create an adventure-filled experience for all! You'll play a key role in developing and implementing camp-wide themes, ensuring each activity is fun, engaging, and memorable. On top of all that, you’ll manage the logistics of camp activities by creating purchase orders and ensuring the supplies needed to make it all happen are ready to go. The Activities Director is in charge of organizing and planning the activities of Shiloh’s summer camp program. Ratio: 1 Activities Manager for the camp season
Qualifications and Certifications:
✴ Christian visionary leader with positive attitude and energetic
personality; highly organized, self motivated, and able to lead large groups of kids and staff in games or activities
✴ Minimum age: 20
✴ One year camp and/or leadership experience.
✴ Comfortable talking in front of large groups
✴ Flexible
✴ Creative and innovative when planning camp activity program
✴ Some training/background in First Aid and CPR preferred
✴ Able to uphold and enforce guidelines established by Shiloh as well as the State of New York
✴ Able to act decisively and honorably in dealing with staff or campers

General Areas of Responsibilities (List not inclusive of all duties):
1. Plan & Lead Evening Activities: Organize and facilitate exciting nightly activities, including themed cabin games like Pirate Night and Weekend Games, ensuring fun for all.
2. Lead Afternoon Large Group Activities: Engage boys and girls in large group activities, with backup “rainy day plans” to keep campers active and entertained during wet conditions.
3. Coordinate Morning Activity Sessions: Work with activity class teachers to create and execute morning activity sessions that align with the camp's mission and goals.
4. Manage Activity Supplies: Ensure all necessary supplies for activities are purchased on time and within the designated budget.
5. Camp Decor & Ambiance: Take charge of decorating the rec hall and other camp areas to match the current themes or activities, enhancing the camp experience.
6. Camper Check-in: Assist the Camp Director during camper check-in to ensure a smooth start to each session.
7. Problem-Solving: Identify and address any issues that might disrupt camp flow, keeping things running seamlessly.
8. Mentor CITs: Guide and support a Counselor in Training (CIT), providing mentorship while they assist with activities.
9. Support Staff & Camper Needs: Be available to meet the needs of both staff and campers, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable camp experience for everyone.
10. Meal Service Assistance: Help out with meal service as needed, contributing to a positive mealtime atmosphere.
11. Facilitate Close Encounters Group: Lead a daily Close Encounters small group, fostering spiritual growth and connection among campers.
This position combines leadership, creativity, and mentorship, providing a dynamic opportunity to engage with campers and staff while maintaining the high energy and fun that defines camp life!

Must be capable of carrying loads of up to 90 pounds and able to traverse hilly and uneven terrain without undue exertion.
Work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
Perform essential program support to camp activities and programs which may include, but not limited to the following activities: semi – reaching to full-reach overhead, crouching, kneeling, shoveling, working in narrow and/or confining spaces underground, overhead, and at ground level, twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs, and lying on stomach and/or back.
Must have the ability to physically manage and support children when needed for safety in general camp activities (child weighing 50 - 200 pounds).

STIPEND:
$300+ per week depending on experience. Meals, housing and transportation are provided.
